This is an example of a post from the board "General Category".  Simple Portal is very flexible and allows you to configure how many posts from a particular board you would like displayed on the portal page.

Just testing out the forum here, Chase.  Looks GREAT with your latest changes.

I'm assuming a) all our mods will apply (except the shoutbox, of course) b) the slide show will be back in and c) it'll work on the big 4 (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari)?

Thanks,

Tom

Hey Tom -

Ok, glad you like the changes, I'm pretty happy with them myself.  Regarding the mods - can you paste a list of the mods you're using here?  If there's any problems with that, I'll just do the manual edits as there's only one maybe two files that will need to be edited.  Luckily you won't have to deal with the Shoutbox mod.

And yeah, the slideshow will be working on the big 4 browsers - I'll probably put it back up tomorrow and if not then this weekend.

Any special requests, etc just let me know.

Chase - here's the list of the mods I've installed so far - with editorial.

1.    Poll Option in Post     1.0  - Like this one
2.    Auto Embed Video/Audio Clips    3.1.2 - VITAL
3.    SMF 1.0.15 / 1.1.7 Update    1.0
4.    Spoiler Tag    0.6 - Very useful
5.    nneonneo's AJAX ShoutBox    1.22     - VOID - thankfully.
6.    Last Topics of Person    1.0  - this one and other "recent post" mods are ones I installed to try to meet with some users' suggestions.  The New Posts link you installed should do ALL that.
7.    Recent posts user preference    3.04    - See above
8.    YouTube BBCode    2.4 - VITAL
9.    SimplePortal    2.1.1  - it's in there, right?  LOL!
10.    SMF 1.0.16 / 1.1.8 Update    1.0
11.    SMF 1.0.17 / 1.1.9 / 2.0 RC1 Update    1.0
12.    Unread by category    1.0  - See #6 above
13.    Stop Spammer    2.2  - VITAL
14.    SMF 1.0.18 / 1.1.10 / 2.0 RC1-2 Update    1.1
15.    SMF 1.0.19 / 1.1.11 Update    1.0

Ok, no problem.  Like I said, if there's any problems, I'll just do the couple manual edits needed if any.  Maybe I'll take a look at those mods and see.

One question:  Do you want me to keep the smf news area up at the top or do you want me to get rid of it?

You can keep the news section.

One final request... can you extend the shoutbox so more than 3 lines are visible? - and are the date and time second line things optional?

You can control how big the shoutbox is in the SP area of SMF Admin.  The date and time.... I'll see if they give you that option - I forget..

Looks like it's not a default option in the SP Shoutbox area.  I'm sure there's a way to do it, but we'd have to take a look at SP's website.

I fixed the error problem - you'll just have to install a small mod called "disable eval".  Apparently is some weird function of the SMF error log reporter that the Team recommends you disable if you're getting these errors.  The mod disables it.

On to the slideshow..
